Our July 2003 Walt Disney World visit continues with a day at Disney-MGM Studios. This particular day happened to be our 10th wedding anniversary, although we would actually do more celebrating a few days later on our first Disney Cruise. Also, we only spent a few hours at Disney-MGM Studios before going on to Epcot for the evening, so there were not quite as many photos to choose from for this park.

It is time for another visit to Disney-MGM Studios, this time in October 1996. Today, we know the park as Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but this was long before the name change. It appears that we did not spend all that much time in Disney-MGM Studios on this park, or at least I did not take that many photos during our visit for whatever reason. But let’s take stroll down memory lane and enjoy some of that Florida sun!

This time around, we are visiting Disney-MGM Studios in June 1996. Of course, many years later, this park became known as Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which is its current name. But back in 1996, the MGM portion of the name was still going strong. And in that year, Disney-MGM Studios had some new additions. Check out the photos below! One of the recent additions at Disney-MGM Studios was the Hollywood Tower Hotel, home of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Time for another entry in the Looking Back series! This time, we take a look at Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World in these photos from our visit in 1992. Here we are just inside the park at the Crossroads of the World. I have always liked how this photo turned out with the balloons in the foreground. I would like to say I spent lots of time working on the composition here.

Welcome back to the Looking Back series, this time with lots of photos from the Disney-MGM Studios (now known as Disney’s Hollywood Studios, of course) at Walt Disney World in 1991. How many photos? How about 29! Because you can’t have too many old photos, right? As with the past 1991 entries in this series, these photos were from a trip in April and a trip in June of that year.

Twenty-five years ago today, May 1, 1989, the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park opened at Walt Disney World. I was actually there one day before the grand opening day, but that is another story for another time. To celebrate the 25th anniversary, here are some photos from 1990. Why not from 1989, you may ask? Because I already posted thoseĀ in a previous Looking Back post. So here are some photos from the park’s second year.

It has been a while, but here is another entry in the Looking Back series. This time we look back at the Disney-MGM Studios in July 1989 with some photos I took way back then. As you may remember, the park had just opened in May of that year, so everything was still fresh and new. Let’s take a look around. Here is the main entrance to Disney-MGM Studios. In many ways, the entrance hasn’t changed all that much, except that the sign now reflects the new name of the park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
